The flat dual core cable (stock number 242-6189) is a unique feature of the AS-I system, designed for easy and fast connection establishment, ensuring correct polarity at all times. Cables can be used in networks up to 100m in length (up to 300m if repeaters are used). Both power and data are transmitted through the same cable, which can significantly reduce the time typically used to connect sensors and actuators, thus saving cable requirements and labor. Choosing the AS-I connection module allows users to connect standard sensors/actuators to the bus and has all the addressing advantages of using a dedicated sensor/actuator set. It can also be used to increase the number of input/output nodes that users need to use addressable junction boxes to achieve. The connection module provides various packaging options and can accommodate up to 4 inputs and 4 outputs. This allows up to 124 inputs and 124 outputs to be connected to a single AS-I network. Another feature of the AS-I system is the way in which sensors or modules communicate with the host. The design of communication protocols ensures high data accuracy and error detection capabilities, making ASI systems particularly suitable for automated operations in noisy and industrial environments. ###The advantages of AS-I include replacing hard wiring, high data transmission speed, low cost installation, intelligent diagnosis, easy learning and installation, good flexibility to connect to other fieldbus systems, user-friendly on-site pre assembly and testing, easy maintenance, and faster on-site debugging.
